Ohio State Participates in Special Olympics Ohio's Regional Event

Special Olympics Ohio invited Ohio State football to accompany its athletes in the South Central Region Columbus Sports Classic on Saturday morning.

Several Ohio State football players worked with and competed with athletes with intellectual disabilities in events like track and field, bocce ball, powerlifting volleyball and tennis.

"The mission of Special Olympics Ohio is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community," the organization's website, sooh.
