Ohio State’s men’s sports were the best in the country in 2024-25.
Ohio State was named Wednesday as the men’s winner of this year’s CapitalOne Cup, which honors the best men’s and women’s sports programs in the country.
The Buckeyes won the award based on their top-10 national finishes in seven men’s sports, led by the national championship-winning football team. Other Ohio State teams that contributed to the Buckeyes’ winning total were as follows:
- Soccer: Third in final United Soccer Coaches poll
- Fencing: Fourth at NCAA Championships
- Wrestling: Tied for fifth at NCAA Championships
- Tennis: Sixth in ITA rankings
- Gymnastics: Seventh in final NCAA standings
- Lacrosse: Ninth in postseason Coaches poll
Those seven teams combined to score 113.
