Ohio State men's basketball | Maturation of Kam Williams might lead to starting role

The continued on-court maturation of Kam Williams has left Ohio State coach Thad Matta with a welcome conundrum.

As a sophomore last season, Williams seized upon the role of sixth man for the Buckeyes and averaged 8.6 points per game while giving Matta a legitimate scoring boost off the bench. Now, as Williams continues to develop his game, it’s possible he could find his way into the starting lineup.

But what's better: starting with the opening tip, or injecting instant offense a few minutes in?

“Yes, I think he can (be a starter),” Matta said last Thursday at Big Ten media day.
