Teradja Mitchell is entering the transfer portal to play a sixth season of college football elsewhere.
The fifth-year senior Ohio State linebacker announced Monday that he is entering the portal with one more year of eligibility, though he plans to remain with the Buckeyes for their College Football Playoff run.
While Mitchell is currently using the extra year of eligibility provided to all players by the NCAA in 2020, he has not taken a redshirt year and has only played in four games this season, leaving him eligible to take a redshirt for the 2022 season and play another year of college football in 2023 – though he would no longer be able to redshirt this year if he sees game action in the CFP.
