I'm think what initially appealed to me about the NFL Draft as a kid was the idea that people threw you a party for getting a job. A very lazy person by nature, I had kind of hoped that my first real job experience would involve some guy in an ill-fitting suit announcing my name to a bunch of deliriously happy drunk people and then me putting on a cool hat.
That didn't end up happening (I just got to sit in the cab of a pickup truck for half a day while one of the guys from the auto parts store explained deliveries and why the coming war between Russia, China, and Iran would kick off the apocalypse), but part of me hopes that eventually it will.
