Ohio State coach football Urban Meyer scrunched into the back cockpit of a two-seater IndyCar behind driver Conor Daly on Thursday afternoon and took a short, fast ride from the Woody Hayes Athletic Center to the Longaberger Alumni House, up and down Olentangy River Road with a quick U-turn at the Lane Avenue intersection.
“This is a very busy time of the year, and when I saw the invitation, the only deal I made was the minimum miles per hour was 200, and I think we hit it in that turn,” Meyer said.
“I have great respect for what you do for a living,” he said, looking at Daly, whose IndyCar series is staging the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend.
