Ohio State football | Substitution system helps develop depth on defensive line

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Life for the Ohio State defensive line moved on without tackle Tommy Schutt on Saturday night, and one major reason was because the Buckeyes had prepared for just such a challenge.

Defensive line coach Larry Johnson has used several players at the four line positions this season. That’s why at Rutgers, the top-ranked Buckeyes had Joel Hale and Michael Hill not only willing to step in next to defensive tackle Adolphus Washington but proven.
