Ohio State football | Q&A with former Buckeye Ken Vargo

Dispatch sports reporter/columnist Rob Oller each week finds a former Buckeye for a question-and-answer session.

Ken Vargo

Years at Ohio State: 1953-55

Age: 81

Current residence: Ottawa, Canada

Ken Vargo is from Martins Ferry, Ohio, but considers himself more of a Canadian after living north of the border since the mid 1950s. Captain of the 1955 Buckeyes, Vargo started three seasons at center and also played linebacker. His interception was the turning point in OSU’s 20-10 victory against Iowa in 1955. He also was a member of the Buckeyes’ 1954 national championship team.
