Ohio State football program gives another honor to former coach Jim Tressel

The Ohio State football program turned into a national powerhouse when the Buckeyes hired Jim Tressel. Tressel won a national championship in just his second season coaching the team. He started recruiting more on a national scale and had Ohio State in the thick of the BCS race every year.

Tressel had the Ohio State Buckeyes playing in three different national championship games. He was fired for something that is now legal in today's NIL world, so he has been welcomed back by the university more than a few times. He has helped Ryan Day since he's been a head coach, too.
