Ohio State football: Illinois linebacker commits to Buckeyes

Illinois linebacker Tuf Borland became the 10th commitment of Ohio State’s 2016 recruiting class when he announced on Twitter that he would become a Buckeye.

“Extremely excited to say I’ve decided to attend The Ohio State University!!” Borland tweeted Friday night.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Borland is from the Chicago suburb of Bolingbrook. He is ranked the 20th-best outside linebacker nationally in composite rankings by 247sports.com.

Borland’s father, Kyle, played at Wisconsin in the early 1990s, and the Badgers were considered the favorite to land him. Borland is not believed to be related to former Wisconsin star linebacker Chris Borland, who is from Kettering, Ohio.
