Last year was a tough season if you were a player on the Ohio State defense or a coach as the Buckeyes ranked 72nd in the final FBS defensive rankings. However, things changed on that side of the ball during the offseason.
One of these changes being that Greg Schiano left the program and his replacement will be a Michigan guy named Greg Mattison. Last season he was co-defensive coordinator at Michigan and the Wolverine defense finished 2nd in the standings.
Mattison will also team up with his other defensive coordinator partner Jeff Hafley.
