Ohio State football | Elflein will be fine after having shoulder cyst removed

Ohio State football captain Pat Elflein has been seen with his left arm in a sling the past couple of days, but a team spokesman told The Dispatch on Thursday it is no cause for alarm.

“He is wearing a shoulder sling because he had his shoulder scoped last week to remove a cyst,” the spokesman said, referring to the fifth-year senior center. “I’m told he is expected to be fine by camp” which is scheduled to begin Aug.5.

Elflein, all-Big Ten last season, is one of just three returning starters for the OSU offense this year, and he is switching from right guard to center to replace the departed Jacoby Boren.
