In a battle between two QB transfers from the SEC, sophomore Justin Fields from Georgia came out on top over graduate transfer from Kentucky and Dublin native Gunnar Hoak. It was announced earlier today Fields will start the first game of the season against Florida Atlantic.
The former five-star recruit was highly favored to beat out Hoak, but the fact that head coach Ryan Day waited until 12 days before kickoff left some Buckeyes fans questioning whether Fields had shown enough to be the man for the job.
