Braxton Miller will have a new uniform number to go with his new position this season.
The quarterback-turned-hybrid will switch from No. 5 to No. 1, according to ESPN.com’s Austin Ward.
“I just want to make a new beginning, a new era for myself,” Miller said, according to a tweet by Ward. “Rocking No. 1, I feel like this is me now. One and only.”
Miller apparently will swap numbers with redshirt freshman Johnnie Dixon, who had worn No. 1. On Ohio State’s official training camp roster, Miller is still listed as No. 5.
Miller will make his training camp debut at his new position in this afternoon’s veteran practice.
