Ohio State Football: 1968 ‘super sophomores’ didn’t repeat, can these?

There were similarities and some differences between the 1968 super sophomore class and last year’s version.

For starters each team started slowly while picking up steam toward the end of the season. Then a win in their last Big Ten game in which each scored at least 50 points gave them a chance at the title. Plus, each team won the championship by defeating a Heisman Trophy winner.

The ’68 team was carried by their defense early on while the offense was figuring things out, and the exact opposite was the case with the team last season.
