Ohio State Cornerback Sevyn Banks, Defensive Ends Tyler Friday and Javontae Jean-Baptiste Lose Black Stripes

Three more members of Ohio State's 2018 recruiting class 'officially' became Buckeyes on Monday, as defensive ends Tyler Friday and Javontae Jean-Baptiste and cornerback Sevyn Banks became the latest true freshmen to shed their black stripes.

Banks, who has been on campus since spring as an early enrollee, and Friday and Jean-Baptiste, who enrolled this summer, are the 11th, 12th and 13th members of Ohio State's true freshman class to shed their black stripes.

Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano said Monday that Friday is among the true freshmen – along with Tommy Togiai, Taron Vincent and Tyreke Smith, who have each also lost their black stripes – who could see playing time along the defensive line in the Buckeyes' season opener against Oregon State on Saturday.
