Ohio State's big-time transfer from Santa Clara got his Buckeye career off to a good start. Christoph Tilly, the 7-footer from Germany, played his first three seasons out west for Santa Clara. In Ohio State's 2025-2026 season opener against Indiana University-Indianapolis, the big man had a rock-solid debut as a Buckeye.
Tilly was the Buckeyes' leading scorer in the 118-102 victory. He had 28 points, nine rebounds, three assists, a steal, and a block. Last year at Santa Clara, he averaged 12.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. His 28 points in the first game of the season for Ohio State are also a career high for Tilly.
