Ohio State Cancels All University Events Through July 6 Due to Coronavirus Outbreak

Ohio State has extended its cancellation of all in-person university events through July 6, university president Michael Drake announced on Friday night.

Friday's announcement comes after Ohio State announced on Wednesday that classes would remain online only for the summer semester. According to Friday's announcement, no new university events will be scheduled until after July 6, but the university “will continue to reevaluate based on evolving conditions.”

Ohio State announced Friday that it will hold a virtual spring commencement and that it hopes to hold an in-person commencement ceremony for spring graduates in the future, but that will have to wait until at least July.
