These are strange times for Penn State football, at least as it has existed under the direction of James Franklin. Coming into the 2025 season, they'll be the probable favorites to win the Big Ten championship, which gives them pretty good odds to win the whole damn thing.
They replaced essentially their entire wide receiver room in the transfer portal, are returning almost everyone on defense (save for, uh, their best player), and have two excellent running backs that would start anywhere in the country. And Drew Allar is there too, I guess.
So what's funny to me and George is that the Nittany Lions played ball with ESPN and decided to lean into an offseason narrative that they just hired a catty diva for a defensive coordinator, who is being at least a little bit fast and loose with the details of his departure from Ohio State.
