Gavin Cupp’s trip to Ohio State earlier this weekend for the Buckeyes’ “Friday Night Lights” recruiting event was costly.
Gavin Cupp
It is being reported that Cupp, a three-star offensive lineman in the 2016 class committed to Michigan State, is no longer a Spartan. According to a report by Scout.com, Mark Dantonio pulled Cupp’s scholarship offer after he attended FNL in Columbus without telling the Spartans’ coaching staff. Cupp had been committed to Michigan State since May.
Recruits visiting schools they are not committed to is pretty common in the world of college football recruiting, but Cupp’s actions apparently crossed the line in the mind of the Spartans’ coaching staff.
