Former Ohio State Forward Carson Meyer Notches First NHL Goal and Assist in Second Career Game With Blue Jackets

It sure didn't take Carson Meyer long to make an impact for his hometown NHL team.

The former Ohio State forward made his NHL debut with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday night. Just a day later, he was named the team's MVP of the Jackets' 4-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers, notching both his first NHL assist and goal just minutes apart.

Meyer recorded his first NHL point early in the first period when he assisted on a Brendan Gaunce goal. But he found the back of the net himself later in the period to notch the first goal of his NHL career.
