Former Ohio State Assistant Coach Jeff Hafley Wins Head Coaching Debut As Boston College Dumps Duke

Jeff Hafley, Ohio State's co-defensive coordinator and secondary coach a season ago, won his head coaching debut today as Boston College hammered Duke, 26-6, in Durham. The Eagles entered the contest as six-point underdogs.

With his own Ohio State ties, BC athletic director Martin Jarmond was high on Hafley from the onset of his search despite the fact the 40-year old had never served as a head coach at any level.

The move began paying dividends today as Hafley's defense forced five turnovers, recording two interceptions and three fumble recoveries.
