flips his commitment from Florida to Ohio State

The famous Glenville pipeline continues.

Less than two months after three-star 2026 defensive tackle Jamier Perez committed to Florida, Ohio State convinced the Tarblooders standout to flip his commitment to his home state team on Friday.

It was a slight shock initially when Perez committed to Florida in mid-May, considering the 6-foot-4, 330-pound prospect had the Buckeyes at the top of his list when he was offered by Larry Johnson in the spring. But Johnson and OSU never stopped pursuing the homegrown product and ultimately convinced him to become a Buckeye in the end.

Less than a month after committing to Florida, Perez returned to Ohio State twice for a camp and official visit, making it clear he was still interested in the Buckeyes.
