The next wave of basketball Buckeyes collected some honors this week with both E.J. Liddell and D.J. Carton picking up All-State honors, with Liddell also named the USA Today Illinois Player of the Year.
Liddell's honor comes after a dominating season where he averaged 20.2 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.8 blocks a game to lead his Belleville West High School to the Illinois state title.
Four-star point guard Carton also made an all-state team, as he was named to Des Moines Register's All-Iowa team. Carton dominated Bettendorf High School, averaging 24.4 points per game on 54.
