Chris Spielman Meets Lofty Goal, Raises $40,000 For COVID-19 Relief

Chris Spielman's mission is accomplished.

The legendary Buckeye linebacker set out to raise $40,000 to go towards those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Less than a month later, Spielman's lofty goal has been reached.

Spielman's fundraising efforts came primarily from eBay auctions of his own personal gear and memorabilia to raise money for COVID-19 relief. The auctions were headlined by his 1984 Big Ten championship ring selling for $12,000, and his 1986 Big Ten championship ring selling for $6,200.

Spielman's other sales included a game-worn Buffalo Bills jersey for $1,125 as well as his personal 1994 All-Madden Team leather jacket for $2,565, a Detriot Lions jersey and pants set packaged with his 1994 Pro Bowl watch for $2,500, and a game-worn signed Browns jersey and helmet for $1,525.
