Ohio State didn't list Carnell Tate on its Status Report against Purdue; however, the star receiver will not play against the Boilermakers.
Big Ten Network's Brooke Fletcher reported on the broadcast for Ohio State vs. Purdue that Tate was “a little tight during warmups" but could still enter the game for the Buckeyes. Not long after, an Ohio State spokesperson told reporters that the Buckeyes plan to hold Tate out of the entire game for precautionary reasons. Day confirmed that to Fletcher at halftime.
"He's not gonna play. We're gonna hold him," he said. "It was kind of a thing before the game — we just didn't feel comfortable putting him out there, so you won't see him in the second half.
