Brian Hartline, Justin Frye, Tim Walton Join Jim Knowles, Larry Johnson As Ohio State Assistants Making Seven Figures with New Contracts

Brian Hartline has received a $650,000 raise with his promotion to offensive coordinator.

Hartline will make $1.6 million in 2023 as Ohio State’s new offensive coordinator, surpassing the $1.4 million salary Kevin Wilson received as Ohio State’s offensive coordinator in 2022. He’ll be the second-highest-paid assistant coach on Ohio State’s 2023 staff behind only defensive coordinator Jim Knowles, who will make $1.957 million after receiving a standard 3% raise for 2023.

Ohio State will have five total assistant coaches making seven figures in 2023. Offensive line coach Justin Frye will make $1 million (a $200,000 raise from last season) with his promotion to run game coordinator.
