Bob Hunter | Rumblings: Hartnell happy for buddy Timonen winning first Stanley Cup

Among those who “celebrated” the Chicago Blackhawks’ Stanley Cup championship was Blue Jackets forward Scott Hartnell, who played with Kimmo Timonen in Philadelphia and calls him his “best buddy in hockey”

Timonen, 40, was dealt from the Flyers to the Blackhawks before the trade deadline to give him one last chance to win the Cup. He had spent a big chunk of the season on the bench while he recovered from blood clots in his lungs and right calf and had declared that he would retire after his 16th NHL season no matter how it ended.
