Ohio State Football News: JT Barrett, Cardale Jones Don't Want Quarterback Rotation

Our Ohio State football news update for August 19th:

JT Barrett worked in a quarterback rotation for a time back in high school, and he hopes to not have to do that again with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

"I don't think it'd be best for the quarterback position because we wouldn't have the same rhythm or efficiency," Barrett said, via Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch.

Cardale Jones agrees with Barrett, indicating how uncomfortable he's been splitting snaps with the first team during camp practices.

If they get their wish, it appears neither guy will be sulking on the sideline if they happen to finish as the runner-up in what has been the most intriguing and most publicized quarterback competition in the nation this offseason.

"People say those things and sometimes it's not genuine," head coach Urban Meyer said recently. "This one is very genuine. … They encourage each other, they push each other. It's unique. … It's one of the most refreshing competitions I've ever witnessed."
