Guess Who Has The Nation's #1 Recruiting Class -- It Ain't Michigan

The Michigan Wolverines have been getting a lion's share of the national media attention for their improved recruiting efforts under head coach Jim Harbaugh, but even today's commitment by elite cornerback David Long hasn't pulled Michigan even with the program currently sporting the #1 recruiting haul in the Class of 2016 -- the Ohio State Buckeyes.

On Monday, Ohio State had one of the best days for any program in the recruiting cycle. In the span of several hours, the Buckeyes picked up commitments from four-star quarterback Dwayne Haskins, four-star wide receiver Binjimen Victor and four-star outside linebacker Keandre Jones.

All three of the commits above are in the top 100 of 247Sports' overall player rankings for the Class of 2016 -- giving Ohio State seven overall Top-100 talents. More on this story in the Chat Sports iPhone and Android apps.

Ohio State jumped LSU for the #1 overall spot in 247Sports' overall class rankings with their Wednesday haul. Prior to today's commitment by David Long, Michigan ranked just #7. (ESPN did have them #5 before the Long announcement, though).

The Buckeyes are still in on a host of top recruits who'll be announcing their decisions between now and National Signing Day on February 3rd. A couple more marquee gets could be enough for OSU to hold off all challengers for the #1 overall class spot, but there's still several top programs lurking on the big board.
