The 4 Toughest Quarterbacks Ohio State Will Face In 2015

The winner of the Cardale Jones/JT Barrett/Braxton Miller QB competition will be able to go toe-to-toe with any signal caller in the nation, but there's still some very tough quarterbacks on the docket when it comes to the Ohio State Buckeyes' 2015 schedule. Here's our list of The 4 Toughest Quarterbacks Ohio State Will Face In 2015.

4. Mitch Leidner - Minnesota (November 7th)

Leidner has plenty of size at 6'4" and the arm/athleticism to match. He's not afraid of getting out on the run when the pocket breaks down, but he's got the potential to be lethal if you allow him to get into rhythm on three- and five-step drops in the pocket.

3. Nate Sudfield – Indiana (October 3rd)

Sudfield's season came to abrupt end in 2014 due to a shoulder injury, but he's still widely regarded as one of the best pro prospects in the Big Ten thanks to his 6-foot-5 frame and big arm. Indiana may toil in relative football obscurity, but they've got a true gem in Sudfield if he can return close to 100% healthy.

2. Christian Hackenberg - Penn State (October 17th)

Hackenberg went through some major growing pains as a sophomore, but if his dominant 350-yard performance in this past postseason’s Pinstripe Bowl is any indication, Penn State has stumbled upon one of the best quarterbacks they've had in Happy Valley in a long time. We're not going as far as some by labeling him a Heisman candidate, but he at least has the raw talent to match up with some of the nation's elite signal callers.

1. Connor Cook - Michigan State (November 21st)

Cook’s resume speaks for itself: 23-3 as a starter, 16-1 in Big Ten competition, and bowl wins in the Cotton and Rose. He’s got a few hitches in his giddy-up when it comes to his decision making and footwork under duress, but he’s a proven leader who can hit targets through the smallest of windows. Cook's a bona fide Heisman candidate who's on his way to a very high pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He's also gonna provide one heck of a back-and-forth battle for whoever wins the Buckeyes starting QB job.
