Ohio State Encouraging Fans To Text Police For Help When Other Fans Won't Sit Down

In this Buckeyes football news and rumors update, the Ohio State Buckeyes are promising a very different experience for fans from previous years when they host Virginia Tech for their first home game of the season on Saturday.

The first thing fans will notice is how much louder the place is, with 2,600 new seats added to Buckeye Stadium in a renovation project this offseason.

With all those extra spectators, stadium security is beefing up their presence during gamedays. So reports WBNS-TV's Jerry Revish:

To control the extra fans, game staff members will be ready to resolve problems instantly and will let fans report issues directly to them from their smartphones.  Fans can text ‘BRUTUS’ to 69050 and stadium staff or police will respond to your issue.  That includes fans who are misbehaving, swearing, inebriated, or who do not sit during game play.  Law enforcement officers add that they want fans to report any suspicious activity.

So, don't miss a play staring at some drunk guy's back side...keep '69050' in your contacts to ensure your line of sight is belligerence-free.
