Braxton Miller Picks Oregon To Beat Ohio State In Twitter Poll

The Ohio State Buckeyes and Oregon Ducks will be facing off in the National Championship Game on January 12th with extra excitement, as it's the first title game under the new College Football Playoff format.

Ohio State is an unlikely participant in the championship game as they've been forced to start their third-string quarterback, Cardale Jones, in both the Big Ten title game and in the playoff.

The projected starter, Braxton Miller (two-time Big Ten Player of the Year), re-injured his throwing shoulder before the season started and was ruled out for the year. Backup J.T. Barrett played so well during the year (before breaking his ankle against Michigan) that head coach Urban Meyer told the senior Miller he was going with Barrett, a redshirt freshman, as his quarterback for next season.

That immediately sparked rumors that Miller would transfer to play his final season of eligibility, and Oregon has emerged as the likely destination for him given his supreme athletic ability.

None of that is official yet, but Miller essentially confirmed as much on Twitter this weekend when he picked Oregon - not Ohio State - to win the national championship.
