#2 Ohio State Rallies For 30-23 OT Win Over #8 Wisconsin

The Ohio State Buckeyes didn't look good early, but the #2 team in the country rallied with a strong second half performance to beat #8 Wisconsin, 30-23, in overtime on the road.

Wisconsin took control of this game early with a string of surprisingly explosive plays to move the ball down the field. That culminated in a 24-yard touchdown pass from Alex Hornibrook to Jazz Peavy, giving the Badgers a 10-0 lead. Both sides traded field goals for the rest of the first half, giving Wisconsin the 16-6 lead going into the break.

The third quarter was owned by the Buckeyes. Not only did their defense start to take over, limiting Wisconsin to just 11 total yards in the period, but J.T. Barrett and the offense finally got going. Barrett scored on a one-yard touchdown run in the quarter, then gave Ohio State the lead with this eight-yard scamper at the start of the fourth:

Wisconsin was far from done, however, going down the field to score on the next drive to retake the lead. After a Buckeyes field goal, we went into overtime with the game tied, 23-23.

On the first possession of overtime, Ohio State overcame two penalties as Barrett connected with Noah Brown for the seven-yard touchdown.

The Badgers got down to a 1st & Goal on the five yard line, but Ohio State's defense came up strong and kept them out of the end zone, preserving the victory with a sack:

Barrett finished the game with 226 passing yards and a touchdown while rushing for another 92 yards and two more scores.

The Buckeyes are now 20-0 in true road games under Urban Meyer.
