It wasn’t time to become a starter, or begin thinking about an NFL future, however. Rather, it was time to give up the game that he loved.
Provitt, a sophomore cornerback from Venice, Fla., has left the Ohio University football program. He will finish out the current semester at Ohio, and then will look to transfer back to his home state of Florida, he said Thursday.
“I was blessed with a great opportunity here,” Provitt said. “I felt overlooked in high school, and Ohio gave me a chance.
“But it was my time to step away,” he continued.
