Ohio University announced Sunday afternoon that former team captain Jeff Boals will take over as the new men’s basketball head coach.

Boals returns to his alma mater from Stony Brook University where he served as head coach of the Seawolves for the last three seasons. Boals led Stony Brook to a 55-41 record as head coach, including a 24-8 record in 2018-19.

Before his stop at Stony Brook, Boals was an assistant at Akron from 2006-09 and then at Ohio State under Thad Matta from 2009-16.
