Ohio names Roark as next softball coach

Ohio University’s Director of Athletics, Jim Schaus, announced the hiring of Kenzie Roark as the Bobcats new head softball coach on Friday.

Roark will be 11th head coach in the history of the program, and replaces Jodi Hermanek — who left Athens for the head coaching job at Pitt earlier this month.

“Kenzie is a grand slam hire, and we couldn’t be more excited,” Schaus said in a released statement.

“She is well respected as a top pitching coach who has played a big role in South Carolina Upstate’s position as a top Division I softball program and one that has been to the NCAA Tournament five out of the last six years.
