No QB controversy for ’Cats as Rourke is back as starter vs. Virginia

Early on, Quinton Maxwell was slated to play in Ohio’s opener against Howard Saturday at Peden Stadium. Maxwell, though, was not supposed to play as much as he did, in all but three offensive drives.

The Bobcats defeated Howard in a way-too-tight 38-32 opener to the season. Junior quarterback Nathan Rourke started for Ohio, a job he took from Maxwell in the third week of the 2017 season and proceeded to excel at.

Rourke didn’t exactly have last season’s shine against Howard, however. He threw for just 2 for 8 passing for 44 yards. What makes Rourke special is his ability to make plays with his feet and keep the ball grounded.
