The Ohio University and Eastern Michigan football teams looked very similar when they played each other on Saturday in both teams’ Mid American Conference opener.
The Bobcats and Eagles were both decked in their respective green-and-white uniform color combos. On the field, Ohio outgained Eastern Michigan (2-1, 0-1 in the MAC) but only by 23 yards at 373-350. The time of possession went closely into Ohio’s favor again at 30:56-29:04. Both teams had the same score when the clock stopped ticking in regulation, forcing overtime.
Both teams also produced stellar defensive play, something that helped keep this game a battle through two overtimes until Ohio (3-1, 1-0 in the MAC) finally clenched the 27-20 victory.
