Bobcats clipped, 2-1, at Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Thanks an uneven number of teams in the conference this season after Akron dropped the sport a year ago, the Ohio University baseball team is competing in a non-league series this weekend.

But the Bobcats didn’t find any relief in the opener of a three-game set at Notre Dame on Friday night, losing 2-1.

The loss was the fourth in a row for Ohio, which dropped to 17-23 overall for the season. The Bobcats started the weekend at 5-10 in Mid-American Conference play, good enough for ninth in the overall conference standings; the top eight teams qualify for the 2016 MAC Tournament.
