Ball sparkles in Ohio’s first scrimmage

Elijah Ball had a slice of watermelon in each hand and eagerly took a bite from each between answering questions.

Ohio’s redshirt freshman wide receiver was feeling the heat after the Bobcats’ first scrimmage of fall camp — which was held in the middle of the afternoon on the turf inside Peden Stadium. Temperatures were above 90 and the heat index soared above 100.

“It’s tiring. My legs felt like they got shot,” Ball said of an early big play, and the day’s sweltering playing conditions. “After that long run, I was ready to end the scrimmage.
