OAKLAND — Advocates to keep the Raiders in Oakland aren’t giving up their fight to stop the team from relocating to Las Vegas.

A group of civic leaders and fans announced Friday they have secured high-powered legal representatives to begin to explore their options even as plans to build a $1.9 billion stadium next to the Las Vegas Strip by 2020 are under way.

A coalition has retained New York lawyers James Quinn and Eric Hochstadt to “seek justice for the citizens and fans, worldwide,” community organizer Raymond Bobbitt said in a statement. NFL owners in March approved the team’s relocation while rejecting East Bay officials’ plans to build a new stadium in Oakland.
