Former Raiders TE Pharaoh Brown elevated to Browns active roster

The Raiders waived second-year tight end out of Oregon, Pharaoh Brown, before the start of the season. The Browns promptly signed him to their practice squad and today, he was signed to their active roster.

Brown spent 2017 and the preseason of 2018 with Oakland, and he appeared in two regular season games last year, but did not record a catch. In this year’s preseason, he showed some flashes of ability but was called for several holding penalties and quickly found himself on the new coaching staff’s bad side.

The Browns have an entrenched starting tight end in David Njoku, but are always looking for more weapons for young quarterback Baker Mayfield.
