The cornerback position is arguably the second most critical position after the quarterback. The Oakland Raiders have failed to add quality players at the position for many years. The last quality player the team had was all-pro corner Nnamdi Asomugha. No one has come close to filling Nnamdi’s shoes ever since he left the organization.
There has been many attempts to do so. From elevating Stanford Routt to a number one corner to signing Sean Smith via free agency.
This upcoming 2018 season, however, is the first season for us to actually have hope for the cornerbacks.
