Reggie Nelson was expected to sign with the Oakland Raiders yesterday, but that did not happen. However, the former Cincinnati Bengals safety has reportedly struck a two-year deal with the Raiders today.

Nelson picked off eight passes this season and was the top safety left on the market. He'll turn 33 this season, and his age is likely a big factor why no one had signed him yet. The two-year deal is worth up to $12 million.
Nelson joins a strong list of free agents the Raiders have signed this offseason LB Bruce Irvin, OG Kelechi Osemele and CB Sean Smith. The Raiders badly needed safety help, especially with the loss of Charles Woodson to retirement.
In addition to his eight picks last season, Nelson had 77 tackles and a career-best 14 pass breakups. He was named to his first ever Pro Bowl last season.Back to the Oakland Raiders Newsfeed
