Khalil Mack Thinks Raiders' Defense Can Be As Good As Broncos

The Oakland Raiders are a team on the rise, and they have their sights set on making it back to the playoffs. The defense added talent in free agency and the draft, and the team thinks the unit will be much improved this season. In fact, Raiders' LB Khalil Mack thinks the Raiders' defense could be as good as the Denver Broncos' was last year.

"Most definitely," Mack told Yahoo! Sports. "If you look at that Broncos defense, they’re one of the best defenses in NFL history last year. They did a lot to make the quarterback uncomfortable. We can do those types of things and still put our own little twist on it. We can be that good."

But Mack also knows that reaching that level will take time. After all, the Raiders will have several new starters on the defensive side of the ball, especially in the secondary.

"You want it to happen right away, but we have to know that coming together takes time," Mack said. "We have the talent now, and we can disrupt the way they do and be that dominant if we max out and put it all together."

Clearly Mack and the Raiders have high expectations going forward. Only time will tell if they reach them.
