Yusmeiro Petit is back in the Bay Area, officially joining the A’s on Thursday after signing a two-year deal that includes a club option for 2021.
Petit, 33, played for the Giants from 2012-15 and his history with the area will help him adjust to his new team, the reliever said on a conference call, with Juan Dorado interpreting. “I was on the other side of the bay, but I feel good coming back to a town I’m really familiar with.”
Petit’s former Giants teammate, Santiago Casilla, will be next to him in the bullpen, too, and, Petit said, “Having him there will help me get more comfortable.
