TORONTO — It hasn’t taken long for Yusmeiro Petit to earn what was the first multi-year deal of his career given to him by the A’s this offseason.
Petit’s value has shown on this monster 10-game east coast road trip the A’s are currently on, having appeared in five of the first eight games of the trip and throwing two innings or more in three of those games.
“We knew he’d be durable and a guy you could use in any situation,” A’s manager Bob Melvin said. “We’ve used him in the eighth inning, the sixth, multiple innings.
