OAKLAND — It’s been a strange couple of days for estranged first baseman Yonder Alonso.
Informed he’d been traded by the A’s to the Seattle Mariners just a couple of hours before game time Sunday in Anaheim, he couldn’t get a flight out of Orange County on his own, so he actually flew back with his old team back to Oakland and waited for his new team to arrive.
With the Mariners playing the A’s Tuesday night at the Coliseum, Alonso arrived at the ballpark around 11 a.m. before his ex-teammates arrived to move all of his bats and other gear from one clubhouse to the other.
