Saying he wanted A’s fans to have the best possible experience while the club rolls out its new digital Ballpark Pass, A’s president Dave Kaval said Tuesday the decision to cut off sales of the club’s $19.99 monthly pass at 2,000 was a way for the club and its fans to move into the digital age smoothly.
He went on to say that in the future, many or even most tickets may be sold in this manner with the entire transaction taking place via mobile phone or other device. For now, however, it’s baby steps.
“We just need to be very cautious about how we pilot it,” Kaval said.
